World's Oldest Rodeo
We had a lot of fun at the rodeo (when roasted almonds are around everything is wonderful), though Nathan was not too happy with a surprise run in with the Sun Dogs Mascot ("scary guy") and a couple of very loud bangs from the half time show. The poor kid spent the last 30 minutes cowering under his blankey, even though it made him hot and sweaty. He did recover in time to enjoy the last event, bull riding! This year we also had an extra bonus, because Marci had a chance to stand in for a flag rider and she rode in all her wrangler be-dazzled glory proudly sporting her assigned flag (see first picture). For a few days after, Nathan was convinced that Marci rode a cow, though the cow was very "fast". We saved the flags handed to us at the rodeo (for the 4th of July) and when Nathan would notice them he would ask "shake for cow". Apparently the cows made a big impession on him.

Nate vs. Dad
A water gun is a simple thing, but combine it with a laundry hamper, ska music from Dad's CD library, and an endless supply of water from the kitchen sink and you have the makings of great memories.
