Horsey Pillow
Bracken loves horses real, toy and pretend. His latest imaginative playing consists of him "riding" our living room couch pillows all around the house.
He pulls all the pillows off the couch and moves them around the house. He talks to them, washes them, feeds them and tries to sell them to me.
He has a cute stick horse he could ride around but these days he prefers his horses to be on the squishy side.
Exhausted
Last weekend we had a fun, late night playing with cousins. Both boys immediately fell asleep in the car but Nathan's pose was so hilarious we couldn't resist the photo opportunity!
Chunky Monkey
Our little guy is 6 weeks old and filling out! He's pretty much ready for size 2 diapers because he is busting out of his size 1's. I was hoping to use up all the size 1's before buying the bigger size but I don't think we'll make it.
Tummy Time
Marco is by far my best baby at tummy time. He just lays there relaxed and enjoying the different view.
He does have his limits, and he lets me know when he is done. Aren't those tiny jeans adorable?
And every now and then he gets so relaxed he drifts off to sleep.
Let the Games Begin!
We are now several weeks into Nathan's t-ball season. After about 4 weeks of practice the games started. Typically they play 2 games a week on Monday and/or Wednesday. Those happen to be Curtis's late nights and he doesn't get home till 8:30pm, so it makes my evenings alone more hectic and sometimes stressful because his games are played during prime dinner time from 5:15-6:30. I try to plan dinners that can be cooking while we are gone so I have to be organized and prepare a head of time which means I'm ususally starting dinner prep around 3:30. So far I have only dropped the ball once, and we made an emergency run to Wendy's after his game which the kidlets loved.
Nathan is the kid farthest to the left in the outfield.
Watching these little 5/6 year olds play ball is fun. Their attention span is not the greatest because lets face it, there's a lot of down time in baseball and these little guys get distracted easily. If we didn't have all the coaches and a few extra dads out on the field to help keep them on track I'm not sure it would look much like a baseball game at all. As we get further into the season they are improving, you don't see many funny mistakes like running from second base strait across the field to home (yes that was Nathan!) much anymore.
Bracken loves going to the ball games, but I keep plenty of tricks up my sleeve to help keep him entertained. Sometimes he is in a great mood and sometimes he is in a not so great mood, it all depends on whether or not he had a good nap and whether or not he woke up on the right side of the bed from that nap. Two year olds are so moody! Bracky usually sits by me most of the time eating his snacks. We always take his little glove and ball and sometimes we play catch, which is actually me trying to toss the ball carefully and exactly into his glove.

One Month Old
Baby Marquito is 1 month old!
It is amazing to think he has been mine for a little more than 4 weeks. The time has passed more quickly than I would have liked but at the same time I feel as though he has always been a part of our family.
Marco lately:
Marco is a calm and content baby. He rarely has fussy moments and the few he has are usually related to gas bubbles rumbling around in his tummy. So far Marco can rip man sized toots that rival his father's.
Since a few hours after his birth, Marco has suffered from watery, goopy eyes due to clogged tear ducts. I massage below his eyes in hopes that it will clear up sooner rather than later. Apparently it is very common and usually clears up on its own within the first year.
Marco may turn out to be my sensitive skin baby. Right around his second week of life he broke out in the worse case of baby acne I have ever seen. It covered his entire scalp under his fine hair as well as his face. I eventually purchased Aveeno Baby Eczema cream and that helped it clear up. Now his skin is baby soft like it should be.
Marco outgrew newborn clothes and diapers before he was 3 weeks old.
Marco is a grunter. He has his happy grunts, hungry grunts, gassy grunts and filling his pants grunts.
He is still eating and sleeping really well. I am keeping to the baby routine that I used with Nate and Brack, Eat-Play-Sleep. Marco eats every 3 hours, his awake time lasts anywhere from 30-60 minutes, and then he drifts off to a pleasant slumber.
For bedtime he usually goes down between 10pm or 11pm, and sleeps for 4-5 hours before needing to eat again. Thankfully he goes right back to sleep after he eats, and lasts for another 3 hours.
So far Marco doesn't care much for his chupi but I make him practice sucking it a little everyday in hopes that he will get hooked. Nathan and Bracken had mastered the chupi by one month, but Marco is resisting it still. He is such a calm baby that he doesn't need the chupi to help him relax, but I know it will eventually come in handy if only to help keep him quiet during chruch when he gets older.
Several times a day I take the time to soak him in. His smell, his profile, his tiny hands and feet. Curtis asks me "Is he your favorite?" I reply "All my babies are my favorite, when they are babies." How can you not totally adore something so small and precious!
