About Me

My photo
Our adventure started on a beautiful June day in 2004. Fast forward 12 years and now we are the proud parents of 3 active, beautiful boys. Nathan, Bracken, and Marco. We call Prescott Valley, Arizona home and are constantly reminded that there is never enough time to accomplish and experience everything we think we want. Life with a young family is precious and simplicity is our ongoing quest.

Bracken's Birthday - The Big #5

September 10, 2014

Our active, rambunctious, creative, creature loving, thoughtful, artistic, wiggly, ferocious and handsome Brack Attack is 5 years old!

His birthday fell on a weekday, and Papi had to work so we checked Nate out from school and met Papi at Peter Piper Pizza for a mid day celebration.  Bracken was super excited to celebrate at Peter Piper Pizza!

Bracken loves life.  He wakes up every morning hungry and ready to play.  He would rather not have to do his morning chores to get ready for the day.  Brack's philosophy is: life can be just as much fun in your PJ's and don't stress about the little things, let's not and say we did!  He regularly gets the hankering for a "project".  This entails pulling out paper, markers, crayons, scissors and glue and creating and drawing to his little hearts content.  Our fridge is usually covered with his works of art and don't be surprised if you get a special letter in the mail from Brack because he loves to share his art with his favorite people.  Bracken is all ears when it comes to learning about critters big and small.  He loves to stuff his pockets and backpack full of his creature friends and go on adventures.  If he could miniaturize himself and jump into the TV he would join the Kratt brothers as they toured the world studying animals.  He feels pretty special because a dinosaur is named after him; the brachiosaurus.  Not many people can make that claim.  Bracken has energy to spare, his arms are solid muscle and he is extremely coordinated.  We hope he can find a way to put these physical talents to good use some day, preferably before our furniture falls apart.  Every day we have to remind him to treat our house kindly, it's not a playground, gym or race track.  Brack has always been just like the nursery rhyme: "When he was good he was very very good, but when he was bad he was horrid."  Being the middle brother lands Bracken in quite a few brotherly disagreements.  But at the same time he gets to experience the best of both the big boy world and the little boy world, so I guess it's a trade off.

No matter what way you shake it, we're glad to have him.  Our family wouldn't be complete without him.  He's our rough and tumble little boy and we adore him completely!
