Nathan and Bracken have been on some grand adventures with Tia Marci. Nathan made sure we packed his cowboy boots because he knew there would be lost of opportunity to wear them in Malad. And he was right.
Bracken as always loved horses from a distance and he finally got a chance to experience them up close and personal. He loved riding the horses.
Nathan even helped Tia Marci catch and saddle the horse. He had to stand in front of the gate to stop the horse from running out which he was a bit nervous about but Tia Marci said he was really brave and stood his ground. Then he had to hold the reigns to keep the horse still while Tia Marci saddled the horse. He tried really hard but there is not a whole lot a 4 year old can do compared to the strenghth of a grown horse in search of fresh grass. Needless to say he was yanked around abit.
They also got to visit a farm and see baby cows. Nathan had the chance to experience some real farm work. He helped drive the fork lift to cary the bail of hay out to the cows, put oats and hay in the troughs, and he even tasted some of the cows oats. He later mentioned that his boots were dirty and his hands smelled like hay.
His hard work was rewarded with chicken strips and french fries from the Dude Ranch Restaurant. Nathan is pretty sure farmers live the life.
