About Me

My photo
Our adventure started on a beautiful June day in 2004. Fast forward 12 years and now we are the proud parents of 3 active, beautiful boys. Nathan, Bracken, and Marco. We call Prescott Valley, Arizona home and are constantly reminded that there is never enough time to accomplish and experience everything we think we want. Life with a young family is precious and simplicity is our ongoing quest.

A Hat Like Tio Kendal

Nathan adores his Tio Kendal.  Last January Tio Kendal let Nathan wear his furry hat (I'm not sure what the official name for it is) while sledding in Malad, Idaho.

So when he saw this hat at the store it was love at first sight.
It was $3 dollars on clearance so I gave in to his pleadings and he is now the proud owner of his own furry hat.  What a happy boy!

Sticker Head

Bracken has 1 more month before he goes into Nursery which means Curtis and I have to get creative about ways to distract him from his misery while being confined in church.  This last Sunday Curtis had Bracken during Sunday School and when he brought him to me in Primary Bracken had this sticker on his forehead.  We have a pack of stickers in the church bag, and they have proved handy a time or two.  Amiazingly Bracken left the sticker on his head for the rest of church, and for several hours after.  He wanted it there and I was not going to mess with a good thing.

Sleep Tight

I just tucked my little boys into bed.
I gave them their kisses, hugs, special blankets and foam swords.

Soon they will be dreaming away lovingly clutching their favorite swords.
Ahh, life with boys.

Our Very Own Rayito Del Sol

This year Nathan turns 4;
in fact his birthday is only 4 weeks away!
That means no more Nursery for this kid.
He is a  Sunbeam now!
I am the Primary Pianist so I kept on eye on him during his first Sunday as a brand new Sunbeam, and he did really good!  All the new little Sunbeams did great, they had wonderful Nursery Leaders who taught them well.  I even snapped a few pictures of him.  He was paying such close attention to the sharing time lesson I couldn't get him to look at the camera.

Nathan has been really into Ninja stuff lately and some Ninja moves did make an appearance, but at least he remained seated.  Nathan was super excited that he was finally big enough to go in the "Big Boy Primary"!  He loved singing time and they even sang some songs that he already knew.  During sharing time he tried to answer most of the questions, though he didn't get the answer right very often.  He was very willing to participate and even though he was never picked to help out he handled it well.  And his teacher didn't have any complaints after church when I picked him up.  All in all I'd say it was a successful first Sunday as a Sunbeam.

Funny story: The following Monday afternoon, Nathan was running around the house.  After doing a coupld of laps, he stopped and asked "Mom, am I running super fast because I'm a Sunbeam now?"  And I said "Yes, you sure are!"

More Snow Fun

One evening while I made dinner, Curtis and the boys bundled up and headed to the back yard to further enjoy our snow.
 A Curtis sized snow angel.
 Lovin' life.

Nathan really wanted to make a snowman, but the snow was too dry to stick together the first few days.  But the sun came out just enough to melt the snow a little and make it stick together.  So here is his snowman.

I love the picture of Curtis with the snowman, Nathan took the picture all by himself.

Our Winter Wonderland

A few days after Christmas we had a good snow fall.  Good for Arizona that is.
This is our 3rd winter in Prescott Valley and every year we have had a decent enough snow fall to have some angel makin', snowman buildin', snow boogie ridin' fun.
This year was the best snow yet.  It was powdery and dry and the weather was COLD so it lasted more than one day.

The first day we went to a local park with awesome hills and we all enjoyed good runs.  It was Bracken's first sledding adventure and he had some really cute moments, but when I pulled out the camera and turned it on it shut right off, no more battery.

Luckily we had a second snow fun outing at Grandma and Grandpa Kleinman's and I made sure the camera was freshly charged.  Bracken's first snow season has now been documented.  And he one cute snow bunny.  I love watching him waddle around in his snow gear.  His snow boots are my favorite, all things tiny are adorable.
Getting up close and personal with the snow.
Nathan L-O-V-E-S to sled.  All year long, at least once a month he asks if he can play with the sleds.  He sees them hanging in the garage and he wants to bust them out.  And I tell him he has to wait till winter when it snows.  And he does; he waits patiently.  He is one excited little boy when he wakes up to snow.

Even Curtis and I get in on the sledding action.
Nathan's glove was pulled off on this run.  He just sat there completely still because he didn't want to touch the snow and get his hand cold.

Another Year Has Gone By

Here is a recap of our last evening in 2010!

Bracky enjoying his last family dinner in 2010.  While we were eating dinner the first set of fireworks started.  Here in PV they do an early fireworks show for the kids who need to go to bed before midnight.  Curtis and Nathan raced out to our sun room right away, and I went to get Bracks out of his high chair but he pulled his tray back in place and let me know he wanted to stay and eat his food!

Curtis and Nathan snuggling and eating fireworks cookies, we always eat Oreos while we watch fireworks.  It is really cold here right now; luckily we could watch the show from the safety of our sun room, but it was still cold because our sun room isn't heated.
 My boys enjoying the finale.

Bracken's oreo goatee  & final bathtime in 2010.

Lighting our own fireworks, which were awesome.
Supposedly it is ok to do fireworks in AZ now, but we still felt like rebels.

We ended the evening with a family dance.  We set up the disco ball, put on some of our favorite tunes and went to town!

Last family photo for 2010, taken just before the kids went to bed.
Happy New Year Everyone!
