Another month has come and gone and our little Marquito just keeps getting bigger and cuter!
First off his stats:
15 lbs and 24 3/4" long
Our little boy is actually a big boy falling in the 90% range on all his measurments.
He does have a few little odd things to take note of. His eyes are still goopy some days are better than others. At his checkup our pediatrition noticed an irregularity in his left pupil, which in his experience fixes itself over time and is nothing to worry about but something to keep an eye on. Marco also has a little dimple of sorts on his chest right below his chin. It is not actually a dimple but rather a cyst of sorts. Our doctor said there's not actually a real name for it. He explained that when a fetus is forming in the early stages pouches are formed that eventually develop into body parts and sometimes there are leftover pouches that end up in random places. Funny side not-as he was explaining it I thought of My Big Fat Greek Wedding and the aunt who had a twin in a mole on her neck. Marco doesn't have a long lost twin but he does have something under his skin that is not normal but not problamatic. His cyst has a nice covering of skin over it (sometimes these cysts can creat a tunnel of sorts from the skin into the body-weird I know) and the only issue that may come up is infection. So his strange, un-namable cyst is anther to keep an eye on. Other than these 3 issues he is absolutely perfect.
During this last month Marco has reached a few milestones. He started smiling at me when he nursed and got his diaper changed and it wasn't long before he smiled for anyone willing to give him some lovein'. He has the cutest little smirk. He graduated to size 2 diapers and 6 month clothes. He was blessed and met Grandpa King and later that same week Tia Marci for the first time.
Marco loves attention. One morning he was laying on my bed hanging out while I finished getting ready, when he started to fuss. I let him fuss for a minute because I was in the middle of doing my hair but he didn't want to be patient and started crying harder. I walked over to him and started rubbing his belly and talking to him and he stopped crying immediately and a smile spread across his face. The little stinker was just fine he simply needed some company.
Marco is starting to enjoy a few simple toys. If I help him grip a toy he puts it right to his mouth to explore it and give a good slobbering. He is starting to drool and slobber but not so much that I need to put a bib on him every day. He really enjoys his bouncy chair and the little toys that dangle from it. He will sit in his chair and stare at those toys consentrating really hard and then out of no where he punches on of them. He is getting the hang of that hand eye cordination thing. A few time he has successfully grabbed onto one of the toys too.
He has yet to giggle but he is getting very close. He sqeaks and grunts but a giggle has yet to erupt. Marco is also getting better at sucking on his chupi. He only likes his chupi when he gets tired. And even then he sucks it for only a few minutes until he falls asleep and then out it pops. If he is awake and happy he wants nothing to do with it.
I adore my Marquito. I can't get enought of his chubby little legs and arms, his delicate fingers, his pot belly, button nose, deep brown eyes, and crooked smile.
