Nathan is 6 years old!
This last year Nathan had really grown up a lot. With a year of school under his belt and his new found skill of reading it seems my little boy has vanished before my eyes and he is now a BIG boy. Nathan is super helpful, when he is in the right mood. He is very capable and helps out around the house a lot. He takes out the garbage, does dishes, vacuums, makes his own bed. folds laundry and is always ready to be Papi's right hand man. Nathan has a zest for life that keeps me on my toes. Since the moment he could talk this kid has had a never ending supply of questions spilling out of his mouth. He must know EVERYTHING. His constant stream of chatter and inquiries can be exhausting but I am grateful for his inquisitive nature.
Papi's schedule this year has made accommodating family celebrations a bit tricky. I love to celebrate birthdays on their actual day as much as possible which meant our only available window to celebrate with Papi was over lunch during his 2 hour break between teaching and office hours. Nathan didn't object at all when I suggested we meet Papi at Peter Piper Pizza for a lunchtime birthday bash.
We invited Grandma and Grandpa Kleinman to join us and we all feasted on the lunch time pizza buffet.
If felt a bit weird hauling Nathan's birthday with us, but it was fun and Nathan was in birthday heaven.
Nathan patiently waited for everyone to finish eating before we commenced the opening of presents. Once the gifts were unwrapped Nathan, Bracken and Papi hit up some games and activities.
Nathan loved all of his gifts, but he was especially thrilled with his new scooter. So far all of his scooters have been purchased used so having a sleek and shiny scooter with read accents (his favorite color) was totally awesome.
