About Me

My photo
Our adventure started on a beautiful June day in 2004. Fast forward 12 years and now we are the proud parents of 3 active, beautiful boys. Nathan, Bracken, and Marco. We call Prescott Valley, Arizona home and are constantly reminded that there is never enough time to accomplish and experience everything we think we want. Life with a young family is precious and simplicity is our ongoing quest.

Bracky's Harvest

Bracky loves to help us out in our garden. He especially likes to pick tomatoes, but he rarely picks off ripe ones. Today he came toddling over to me carrying our harvest basket and he proudly lifted it up for me to see what he had. And this is what was inside, a little green tomato.

He walked all around the yard toting his little tomato in the basket.

And of course being a little almost-one-year-old he puts everything in his mouth.
He doesn't seem to mind green tomatoes at all.

Summer Time Adventures #1

JUNE
We spent a fun weekend in beatiful Cloudcroft, NM for a Bluth Family Reunion.
This is the 3rd time we have gathered at this Mountain Resort. We all sleep in cabins (girls camp style with lots of bunk beds) and enjoy lots of good times visiting, playing games and enjoying the endless possibilities of activities, and eating really good food. Most of my cousins are married and have several children and it's neat to see how we have all grown up and the shape our family is taking. Nathan had so many friends to play that he was exhausted at the end of every day.
The highlight for the younger kids was by far the long, down hill sidewalk. There were plasma cars, trikes, scooters and a few crashes and spills.
Curtis and Nathan having a "sword" fight with long blades of grass.

In the evening we would gather around the big fire pit and enjoy s'mores. Here Nathan is eating his gooey goodness while talking to Uncle Dan on the walkie, who was really only a few feet away but Nathan still thought it was awesome.

All the Corey & Lucy King Grandkids. Boys are so FUN!

Back to School

It is that time of the year again. Curtis has returned to his regular schools-in schedule and we have a new school attendee this year. NATHAN! This kid is head-over-heels in love with the idea of school. He has 2 years before he can attend kindergarten and those 2 years are going to be long ones, especially since he asks if he is "big enough for to go to school" every time we drive past an elementary school. Lucky for him we were offered a chance to be part of a preschool group, with five other 3-4 years olds in our ward. The moms take turns hosting each week and the kids get a chance to learn and have fun being together.

Nathan was SUPER excited the morning of his first day. We had his clothes picked out and his backpack ready to go the night before. He woke up a little extra early, got ready and ate his breakfast in record time.

He was a little dissapointed when we told him that the bus was not going to take him to school, he loves school buses more than school. But, having Papi take him in his "troca" was almost as good.

11 Months

YIKES! The countdown is on, my baby is almost a baby no more. These last few weeks before he turns ONE will fly by all too quickly, just like this whole last year. It scares me how time speeds up the older I get. But with every passing day Curtis and I fall more in love with our little Bracky. He is so sweet, silly, cuddly and just plain adorable. Every where we go people always comment on how "smiley" he is. He is a happy loveable baby boy. He loves to give hugs, snuggles, besos and he always has a smile waiting just for you. Now that he is extremely capable at walking he is Nathan's little shadow, which Nathan likes most of the time. Bracky loves to sit on the floor with me and roll a ball back and forth, wander around outside doing what ever he feels like, and driving his little cars all over the house. I love to listen to him talk, his little noises and jibber jabber make me crack up. I love my little boy.

Summertime

I always feel a little sad when summer is coming to an end. Partly because I worry I didn't make the most of the care free days and extra time together as a family. I look forward to starting back into a more scheduled routine, but I will miss the endless possibilites of a slow summer day. Luckily my chidren are small and still at home with me so we can continue to make the most out of the last few weeks of our Arizona heat. So here's to you Summertime.

Life with a BIG Brother

Little brothers fill an important role in the family. They are the guinea pigs, the scape goats, the side kick and the decoy. Face it BIG brothers, you would be lost without them. Today at our house the little brother also became the art project. I'm not sure what Nathan was thinking (actually he probably wasn't thinking at all) when he decided to scribble on Bracken's forehead, but he did and Bracken was fine. In fact he seemed proud of his head scribbles that were given to him by his big brother who he adores. I made sure Nathan knew it was not ok to do it ever again, and then I decided it was a picture worthy moment to capture. So here Brack is in all his scribbled glory. It was just a little scribble, and it washed right off with warm water so no harm done. But all you BIG brothers out there keep in mind that Little brothers don't stay little forever. They will be BIG someday too, and then they will be able to scribble on your forehead.
