About Me

My photo
Our adventure started on a beautiful June day in 2004. Fast forward 12 years and now we are the proud parents of 3 active, beautiful boys. Nathan, Bracken, and Marco. We call Prescott Valley, Arizona home and are constantly reminded that there is never enough time to accomplish and experience everything we think we want. Life with a young family is precious and simplicity is our ongoing quest.

Fun Stuff

Life in our home is never dull.  There is always something going on somewhere.  My little boys are busy and happy.  They have more than their fair share of arguments and fights but at the end of the day they love being brothers.

Valentines Day

We enjoyed Valentines Day with our usual breakfast, goodies and little gifts.  Curtis worked late and Nathan had a basketball game so the evening was busy and hectic.  I decided I deserved a little break and we picked up some Panda Express on the way home from Nate's game.  YUM!

And so it begins!

Nathan has begun his basketball career.  Our children have a rich basketball heritage.  Curtis and his 4 brothers all played and were really good at it too.  Curtis wanted me to mention that he along with his 2 older brothers were MVP's.  I myself am not a fan of contact sports I took the music and dancing route in school, but my siblings, parents, cousins, uncles and grandparents were all ballers.  My Grandpa Bluth is actually famous in Mexico.  He played for their national team and also played for Mexico in the 1960 Olympics in Rome.  Nathan has some BIG shoes, like size 15 big, to fill.  Luckily for Nate he is pretty much genetically groomed to excel in basketball.

We gave him his first Nerf hoop for Christmas when he was 10 months old and it took him about 5 minutes to figure out the whole concept and he has loved basketball ever since.

Nathan improved a lot this first year.  He has always been a good shot but he had to learn how to fight for an open chance to shoot.  His dribbling improved a lot too.  Nathan has been able to dribble the ball since he was 4 years old but it took him a few practices and games to get better at dribbling while running and being chased by the opposing team.

Look Who's 6!

February 5, 2013

Nathan is 6 years old!

This last year Nathan had really grown up a lot.  With a year of school under his belt and his new found skill of reading it seems my little boy has vanished before my eyes and he is now a BIG boy.  Nathan is super helpful, when he is in the right mood.  He is very capable and helps out around the  house a lot.  He takes out the garbage, does dishes, vacuums, makes his own bed. folds laundry and is always ready to be Papi's right hand man.  Nathan has a zest for life that keeps me on my toes.  Since the moment he could talk this kid has had a never ending supply of questions spilling out of his mouth.  He must know EVERYTHING.  His constant stream of chatter and inquiries can be exhausting but I am grateful for his inquisitive nature.

Papi's schedule this year has made accommodating family celebrations a bit tricky.  I love to celebrate birthdays on their actual day as much as possible which meant our only available window to celebrate with Papi was over lunch during his 2 hour break between teaching and office hours.  Nathan didn't object at all when I suggested we meet Papi at Peter Piper Pizza for a lunchtime birthday bash.

We invited Grandma and Grandpa Kleinman to join us and we all feasted on the lunch time pizza buffet.

If felt a bit weird hauling Nathan's birthday with us, but it was fun and Nathan was in birthday heaven.

Nathan patiently waited for everyone to finish eating before we commenced the opening of presents.  Once the gifts were unwrapped Nathan, Bracken and Papi hit up some games and activities.

Nathan loved all of his gifts, but he was especially thrilled with his new scooter.  So far all of his scooters have been purchased used so having a sleek and shiny scooter with read accents (his favorite color) was totally awesome.

10 & 11 Months Old

These photos were taken between 10 and 11 months old so here is a 2 month recap of the 3rd amigo.

Marco has experienced his first:
Haircut -gotta keep the fine, blond, wispy strands under control.
Ambulance Ride -It's a wee bit frustrating when you go to the doctor because your baby is sick and not getting better, and all they do is send you to the ER via ambulance so your sick baby can be on oxygen, and when you get to the ER they are baffled as to why your doctor sent you to the ER instead of just taking care of things at the doctors office.  Marco had RSV and required 2 prescriptions one to dry up his sinuses and one to clear up a minor ear infection.  The staff at the ER thought our pediatric office overreacted with the oxygen.  Thank you evil nurse practitioner for 6 stressful hours of waiting and one costly bill.
Top Teeth -It took about 3 weeks but finally his 4 top teeth came through all at the same time.  There were some rough days but we made it!
STEPS! -Marco officially started to walk January 31!  He took 6 steps in a row.  For a few days leading up to that he would take 2-3 steps before falling back on the ever handy crawl.
Utensils -Marco used a fork on his own for the first time without help from Mommy.  We started practicing eating food off a plate/bowl and for the most part he is leaving the food on the plate and the plate on the tray.  Baby steps.  It's all about baby steps.

P-A-R-K That Spells Park!

January 31, 2013

Winter in Northern Arizona means random weeks of tempting spring like weather thrown in between the cold gusty winds and occasional snows.  On one of those fine spring feeling days we headed to our neighborhood park.  Nate and Brack are old hands at park play, but this was the first time Marco tagged along for the fun.
